Abstract

This article presents a comparative study of tourism development strategies in China and Uzbekistan from
2019 to 2026, with a focus on post-pandemic recovery, heritage tourism, and institutional transformation. By combining
statistical trend analysis and policy review, the paper explores how China’s advanced, tech-integrated tourism economy
contrasts with Uzbekistan’s emerging heritage-based model. The study highlights differences in visitor flows, governance
structures, and digital readiness, while offering recommendations for sustainable growth, infrastructure enhancement,
and cross-border cooperation. This comparative perspective provides insights into how two countries-one established,
the other ascending-can jointly shape the future of regional tourism in Central Asia.
