This study is dedicated to investigating the regularities of metal refining during electric arc welding. The paper analyzes the role of metallurgical processes in improving the quality and mechanical properties of the weld joint. Furthermore, it examines the oxidation-reduction and degassing reactions occurring in the molten pool, as well as their impact on reducing harmful impurities within the metal. Keywords
