Zinc-ion batteries are a safe and low-cost option for storing renewable energy, but their performance depends heavily on the electrode materials. This article reviews recent progress in making nanostructured materials for these batteries, with a focus on manganese oxides, vanadium oxides, and carbon-based composites. We compare common synthesis routes, including hydrothermal growth, electrospinning, and template-assisted methods, and explain how each one shapes particle size, crystal structure, and ion transport. Studies show that nanorods, nanosheets, and nanowires usually store more zinc and last longer than bulk powders. Still, scale-up, material cost, and unclear reaction mechanisms remain open problems for future work. Keywords
